Deron Williams was born June 26, 1984 and is a retired basketball player. He played college basketball for the Illinois Fighting Illini before being drafted third overall in the 2005 NBA draft by the Utah Jazz. On March 20, he recorded season highs of 31 points and 16 assists in a 132–120 overtime win over the Portland Trail Blazers, becoming the first Maverick with 30 points and 15 assists in the same game since Jason Kidd did so in 1996 In January 2012, Williams made the 19 man roster of the USA men's basketball team for the 2012 Summer Olympics.[95] He ultimately made the final roster.
